Damage to Wall

Tesco

A couple of weeks ago a Tesco delivery van was seen knocking some bricks off the wall near this notice board. We emailed them: they sent the email to their insurers, who invited us to submit two tenders for the repairs. We said that wasn’t how we did things in Taddyforde and somebody would do the repairs for free, and how about a Tesco voucher towards our summer barbecue?

Tesco have now offered £100, which seems very generous.

Neighbourhood Watch

This message relates to Police Log 363 26 January 2012.

We have received reports of residents receiving telephone calls from a person claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice advising that the individual could receive payments, such as repayment of bank charges or other debts. In order to claim this rebate the individual has to provide personal details and make an upfront payment, often by asking the individual for a Ukash voucher and asking for the voucher number.

This is a scam. Please ignore such calls and simply put the phone down. Please inform neighbours and display this scam in notice boards. We also ask shops who issue such vouchers to be wary and help those who may fall victim to this scam by not issuing vouchers if suspicious, and contact us on 101.

Thank you.
